KAYAKING. BIDASOA RIVER

The Bidasoa River is a river that originates in the heart of the Baztan valley and, on its way to the Cantabrian Sea, serves as a natural border between France and Spain. In its final stretch, before reaching the Playaundi Natural Park in the bay of Txingudi, the river has enough flow to be navigated by kayak. We recommend an enjoyable and fun ride that can be done between May and October with the company “Kayak Basque Country,” which is based in the town of Hondarribia.

This is a unique and different plan that we recommend doing in a group, allowing you to experience one of the most attractive areas of our territory in a different way.

WHO ORGANIZES THIS ACTIVITY?

It is a relatively easy descent that does not require much experience, but the river does have some risks if you do not have knowledge of kayaking navigation. Therefore, if you do not have enough experience, we recommend doing the descent with the company KAYAK BASQUE COUNTRY (www.kayakbasquecountry.com), one of the few companies that performs the descent with clients and that also has expert kayakers who have even competed at an international level.
